ICT is continually changing and at
Cippenham Infants, we strive to provide the most up to date resources to
complement our teaching.
We provide a varied selection of techniques and ideas for the children to
follow. In Year 2 the children love the unit "Creating Pictures",
while in Year 1, the children make pictograms and explore floor robots. ICT is covered in Knowledge and Understanding of the World in the
Foundation Stage Guidance. When the children are in
the Foundation Stage, they
are provided with a ICT Portfolio, which follows them through the school.
Examples of the children's ICT work are kept in the Portfolios, in order to show
progression throughout the school.
Every class has an Interactive Whiteboard,
which are used every day. They have really brought the curriculum to life!
The children can now look things up (safely) on the internet, write on the
board, play interactive learning games and watch educational DVDs and video clips.
Web Cams, digital cameras and floor robots are also used by the children and
staff in various aspects of learning.

The whole school has also got two timetabled
sessions in our ICT suite, where the children use ICT to enhance their learning
of Literacy or Numeracy, as well as learning new ICT skills.
