About Us
| At our school we aim to give
children a good educational foundation for life. We give all children the
opportunity to develop their academic and social potential. We have a friendly,
enthusiastic and caring atmosphere, and parents are always welcome.
 Cippenham Infants was built in 1937.
The school badge is a rose. It was grown in the early 20th century by
a man called George Lilley. The circlet around the rose represents the moat
that surrounded a palace in Cippenham. The site was from Norman times, but
no trace remains.
Since the school's early days, we
have grown in strength. We currently have 270 children, from Reception to Year
2. The 9 classes are divided into: 3 x Foundation Stage. 3
x Year 1.
3 x Year 2.
Children enter school in the
September of the academic year in which they will turn 5.

| The staff work together as a
team and welcome others to the school.
Our Head teacher is Mrs R. Cross, and our two Assistant Heads are
Miss C. Lambourne and Miss S. Dewberry. |

| Over the last few years the
school has achieved a number of awards. In March 2008 we were presented with
the Investors in People award for the second time; in 2009 we were awarded the Basic
Skills Quality Mark for the second time. We have also been awarded the Healthy Schools Award -
June 2006. Finally one for sport -the Activemark 2006 rewards
exceptional delivery of the National School Sport Strategy. We are very proud to be
hold the grade of 'outstanding' in our OFSTED
inspection following our inspection in September 2008, we also gained
'outstanding after our previous inspection in September 2005. This is the
result of all the hard work and dedication from all the teaching staff,
teaching assistants, cleaning staff, lunchtime controllers and office staff
and of course the hard work put in by pupils and families - thank you to
everyone. |
